Overview

Emergency Electrical from Ecovolt Electrical

Some electrical problems can wait for a booking. Others cannot. A burning smell from a switchboard, a hot power point, exposed or damaged cabling, or water through an electrical installation are all safety issues before they are an inconvenience.

If something is sparking, smoking or has been damaged by water or storm, switch it off at the board if it is safe to reach, keep people away from it, and call us. Do not attempt to investigate it yourself.

We attend urgent electrical faults across Sydney, make the installation safe, then diagnose and carry out the repair.

What this service covers

  • Total or partial power failure
  • Burning smells, sparking or scorch marks
  • Exposed, damaged or storm-affected wiring
  • Hot power points and switches
  • Water through an electrical installation
  • Repeated breaker or safety switch tripping
  • Make-safe, fault finding and repair

When to call

The signs that point to this service.

  • Heat, sparking or a burning smell

A power point or switch that feels hot, visible sparking or scorch marks, or a burning smell from the switchboard. Switch off at the board if it is safe to reach.

  • Water or storm damage

Water coming through a light fitting, power point or switchboard, or wiring exposed or damaged in a storm. Keep clear and do not touch anything wet.

  • A safety switch that keeps tripping

A safety switch trips when it detects current leaking to earth. If it trips again as soon as it is reset, stop resetting it and have the cause found.

  • Power out at your property only

If the neighbours still have power, the problem is most likely on your property rather than a network outage, and worth having looked at.
